Tourism means making trips for pleasure, entertainment, and
sightseeing etc. Culture, arts, historical and religious places also attract
tourists. Different caves, rivers, mountain etc give pleasure to the tourist.
Overall, the field related to the tourist is called tourism. And it is the
important industry in Nepal.
A person who travels from one place to another is a tourist.
Tourist is of two kind- internal and external (international) tourist. When a
person travels inside his/her country is called internal tourist and when a
person travels abroad or outside the country is called external tourist. Many
tourists come to Nepal from a different country. They come here either for
entertainment or for study.
Tourism has great importance in Nepal. It is useful in
several ways. Firstly, it is the main source of foreign currency. Our country
earns money from the tourists by means of hotels, travel agencies, and so on.
We can adopt a good habit from the tourist and our culture goes with them to
other countries. Tourist related industries like the hotel, restaurant, etc.
developed and they help to increase the employment opportunity. Many cottage
industries will also have a great opportunity to increase their business. They
can sell their products like handicrafts, jute etc.

Tourism helps to the country’s economy. In the world, there
is some country which economy only depends on tourism. They increase the
tourist by their nature. They highly focus on the beauty of nature. By this,
they can earn foreign income from different hotels, adventurous things and so
on. If Nepal highly focuses on tourism industry then there will increase the
tourist, they spend their currency in Nepal, employment opportunity will
increase, people’s level of the standard will increase, and the economic growth
rate will also increase and the country will be developed. The main thing is it
will establish the good relationships with other countries.
There is not the only advantage of the tourism industry. We
cab found sine disadvantages from tourism too. Some of the tourists may have a
bad habit and they may spoil our young generation. Due to the tourism, Nepali
people will have the habit of foreign people and they may forget the Nepali
culture and it is very dangerous.
Due to the high advantage of the tourism industry, the
government should implement the effective programs for tourists, which can
attract more tourists to our country. In spite of numerous problems, Nepal is
progressing in tourism.
