Discipline means self-control and obedience. Rules and laws have been made for the function of the family, institutions, society and country. To obey them is discipline. Showing due respect to elders and senior officers is also discipline.
Necessity of discipline:
Discipline is necessary wherever we are. Whether at school or office, play ground discipline is the most. No organization can function well without discipline. Disciple brings peace and order. It develops strength, unity and cooperation. The lack of discipline among the students is one of the chief social problems of the day. This is because they have not been disciplined in their families and in the classroom. The social atmosphere is so full of pernicious influences that they affect their tender, impressionable minds. Absorbing the bad influences around them they easily fall victim to bad habits. Discipline speaks volumes of our social awareness, for even in the early stages of life you begin to learn that you should be a model student, diligent in studies, well behaved at home, in school and outside.
Discipline at school:
We see the importance of discipline in a school. It is discipline which helps the headmaster to organize the work in the school and teaching learning function well. Discipline in school life is very important for students. We can’t be well educated without discipline. Without learning and the following discipline in school life can cost students later in their career. In school education, discipline is a set of rules & regulations that remind us of the proper code of behavior. Discipline is ever more important during school life.

Causes of indiscipline are many. The first thing is the lack of moral education. Because of this, our students do not know what is right and what is wrong. The second reason is unemployment and poverty. When a man has no means of livelihood or can’t afford their family, then he started to do undesirable work and becomes criminal or indiscipline. And the greatest reason is unhealthy political instability. Student and ordinary people are excited to commit offences, and even crimes for political gains. Some films are also responsible for indiscipline.
