An examination is a test of knowledge and ability. It is an inseparable part of teaching. Were there is teaching there is an examination. school gives examinations to its students.
there are mainly three kinds of examinations. The first is the written examination in which questions are given to the students and they write the answers on a paper with pens or pencils. The second is the practical examination in which students student have to make or do something/experiments. The third is the oral examination in which students are asked question by teachers and they give answers orally.
Examinations have a great importance. It is the fear of the examination that makes students read their books. If there were no examination, no student would read. They would not care to learn. Now-a-days a certain qualification is fixed for employment opportunities. The person who applied for their job have to passed particular examination. Thus, examination help them to get employment.
Examinations are not without disadvantages. Students work hard to score good marks in examination or they study seriously but some students enter the examination hall with books and dagger and copy the answer from books, then the cheater student pass the examination easily whereas other student gets failed or scored less than the cheater students.The examination is no longer fair or pious.
To improve examination system oral examination should be given importance. If reforms are took place in the examination system, the dignity of examination will be preserved.
